Do you know the story? In 1887 a small bear figurine made of amber was found near Slupsk. The figurine turned out to be almost 3700 year-old amulet of a bear hunter. Since then, the Bear of Luck has been the city’s symbol, its faithfull re-creation is exhibited in the Town Hall. Since June 2017 until nowadays several interpretations of the figurine have been made by artists and displayed in different parts of the town.
We decided to make use of the story in our project and present it to our European colleagues.
First we read our local legend written by Jolanta Nitkowska – Węglarz.
Next we made teams and then we followed the Bear of Luck's trail (10 copies) using the map.
We took some photos and sought information about our bears.
The most important thing- we spent time together.
Finally we prepared video presentations and discussed about our Bears of Luck during the school lesson.
We took the left paw of the multi-religious bear for our project’s mascot design.
